The beginning

Well here it goes. I know that I have enjoyed reading other friends blogs about their families daily adventures. I have attempted yearly updates to friends but thought it would be fun to allow interested parties in on the daily antics of life with three kids.

As an introduction I suppose I will start from the beginning for the benefit of those who have not known us since the beginning. Mark and I met in 1987 at a church meeting. Not exactly a fairytale but a nice place to meet nice people, right?. We were acquaintances/friends for several years. We did attend my senior prom together. The leading reason for this was I did not want the pressure of romance at this fun event. Friends, is truly where we started our relationship. Mark and I attended IUPUI together and that is when romance started. To make a long story short we started dating in 1990, married in 1992, had Chelsea in 1994, Jacob in 1996 and Sofia in 2004. WOW a delayed gift from God.

I graduated in 1992 with a bachelor of science in occupational therapy. Mark graduated in 1996 after going to Purdue for 4 years longer with two degrees. (computer technology and restaurant hotel management) He is using the computer degree currently.

We built a house in a conservative neighborhood in 1997 and have remained here. It is a four bedroom ranch that was empty and huge when we moved in and currently feels like a cracker box at times. I do believe as the kids have grown the house has shrunk.

Currently we are both working. Mark is at nFrame in Carmel and I work from an in home office as an occupational therapist. Most of my caseload is from the 0-3 population of children. I see clients in their own home three days a week and spend about another day doing paperwork and another day or two doing house work.

Chelsea is 13 years old and beginning 8th grade next week. She is wonderful. Lately she has colored her hair a dark brown and dyed the ends pink. I was very scared but Mark was all for it. I have to say it does not look too bad. Chelsea loves her art mostly drawing and photos. But her real love is her friends. If she is not with one she is chatting on the internet or phone with one or three or four at a time.

Jacob is 11 years old and beginning 6th grade next week. This is the first year of middle school which will be a big change for him. His favorite thing to do other than watch TV and play video games is spending time with his grandpa hunting and fishing. Jacob also enjoys boy scouts and guitar which he is learning. He is also very excited about starting to learn the tenor saxophone in band this year during school.

Sofia is 2 years old and goes to a wonderful in home daycare 3-4 days a week. She loves to play with her friends there and gets very excited when we go. Sofi also loves to play with the neighbor who is 4 months older then her. Sofi loves to play in her bedroom and outside. It has been a challenge to keep her inside the last week with the heat being so bad. She is adorable and will often bargain with us to get us in her room. Sofi is potty trained during the day and is working on being independent. She still likes us to be present even though she does everything. Sofi is a joy and makes me smile everyday. She will be three in November.

Well enough for now. I need to figure out how to post photos in the blog. Be patient with me as I learn how this stuff works.
