For all those of you who think to yourself, I just need to get in shape or I could loose a few pounds or I need to exercise sometime. Well I have the workout for you. Follow a toddler around for a day no an hour. Today I took Sofi with me as I waited for Jacob to complete his fitness program. I took a ball and thought, Sofi and I could play catch. I enjoy standing still and playing catch. Oh no, she did not want to do that.
We entered the gym and her eyes lit up. “STAIRS” She had other things in mind. In a matter of 15 minutes we climbed and descended the stairs at least five times. I don’t know about you but I usually avoid the stairs unless of course the elevator is REALLY slow or I am feeling particularly out of shape and want to get in the exercise.
Sofi also runs circles around the living room (usually around me in the middle) every night for about 20 minutes. We just watch in amazement hoping for even an ounce of her energy. I am going to attempt to insert a video clip of this. Wish me luck.
This is what Jacob was doing while we were climbing stairs. He also climbs stairs at the end of his program. He counted once and there are over 250 steps to go up and down in the whole gym. He now does 1-½ laps after his workout. I don’t think he was too excited when the trainer told him to add half a lap more today. He does a great job on his workout and he is good. He better watch out or the girls will be chasing him.
